Backyard Fun

After an unusual late snow on Easter we were surprised with unseasonably warm weather in the beginning of May. This backyard is a little kids heaven. They never get tired of playing with water and dirt and getting lost between all of Opa's plants and climbing and exploring...

And we enjoy hanging out with friends.

We even introduced S'mores to Germany....

And I don't even want to know what those two are up to!

Comfort

After almost 5 years Emmi has finally started sleeping in her own bed most nights. Thanks to her little sister! After she convinced Lily to share a bed with her she has been sleeping so much better. She is our snuggle bunny after all and just can't sleep by herself and Lily doesn't really care either way. Aren't they just sweet together? I wish I had a sleep cam and could record what is going on in there at night. We find them entwined in the funniest positions! Head on butt, arm on face, upside down... you get the picture!

What happened here? (Definitely not your usual company outing ;) )

Well, I don't exactly remember since I (Monica Milano) tend to drown my sorrow over my husbands murder with alcohol. But I do remember that his murder was solved and I started to feel much better in the arms of Francesco...

Easter Sunday

We started Easter with a nice big breakfast...

...and since we woke up to the last snow fall of the year....

...and there where no Easter Eggs to be found outside, just lots of snowballs...

...we continued our hunt inside...

...and the Easter bunny didn't disappoint...

...and of course we had to do an instant quality check of the chocolate, which was deemed to be good...

...which apparently caused some of the Chocolate bunnies to stage the "great bunny escape",

but they were captured and punished.

Bunny Breakfast

I found this idea on Pinterest and decided to give it a try. The kids loved it and it was super easy to make. Just add a little food coloring to the pancake batter and pour the batter in a bunny shape directly into a large skillet. Make sure the batter isn't too runny and wait to turn it until the top starts bubbling. Add a few M&M's for the face and Voila!

Easter Weekend in Germany is a four day holiday weekend, starting on Friday and lasting through Monday. Unfortunately the nice weather we have had didn't last and it's supposed to be cold and rainy the entire time. Nevertheless the kids started the weekend in a great mood...

Lily: "Where are you Papa?"

Papa: "In the Bathroom."

Lily: "What are you doing in there?"

Papa: "Number 2"

Lily: "Open the door Papa I have to tell you something!"

Dugan opens the door a bit and Lily sticks her arm through

Lily: "Give me high five for pooping by yourself Papa!!!!"

Yeah, it's the little accomplishments in life to be proud of :)

Emmi really enjoyed April Fools Day...

Emmi: "Papa, we decided to get an Elephant as a pet!"

Dugan: "We will have to move to a bigger house!"

Lily almost in tears: "But I want a guinea pig!!!"

We are watching Ice Skating on TV which Emmi loves...

Dugan: "This girl is really pretty"

Emmi: "Yes."

Dugan: "But not as pretty as your Mama!"

Emmi: "No, ....... she is prettier than Mama ."

Lily is struggling to put on her PJ's and Emmi is offering to help.

Lily's response: "Relax, Relax I got it!"

We've been trying to hint to Lily that it may be time to give up the Pacifier habit...

Mama: "Are you going to give your Lullas to the (Pacifier) Fairy?"

Lily: "Yes."

Mama: "And what do you wish for from the Fairy?"

Lily: "New Lullas!!!

Well, lets try again in a few months...

On a side note:

Over the past few weeks Emmi has been really having trouble deciding if she wants to be a Mama, an Astronaut, an Artist or a Dinosaur Researcher when she grows up.

Lily got her first haircut! There wasn't much to cut, but now she has a lock for her baby book at least :) .

Lily learned to ride her walking bike and Emmi has been riding her bike to school ever morning.

We spent April Fools Day at the Easter Market in Bad Tölz...
