Houston Zoo

Houston hat einen schoenen Zoo den wir mit Emmi besucht haben. Emmi fand die Ziegen im Streichelzoo am allerbesten. Sie ist gar nicht mehr fertig geworden mit streicheln und striegeln und hat sogar mehrmals versucht auf eine der Ziegen aufzusteigen.

Houston has a very nice Zoo that we got to visit. Emmi liked the goats in the petting Zoo best. She petted and brushed every single goat in there at least twice and never got tired of it. She even attempted to climb one of the goats to go for a ride.

Pool Days

MeMe & Granddaddys Pool war natuerlich die Hauptattraktion fuer Emmi. Bei 40 Grad im Schatten war auch nicht an viel was anderes zu denken. Wobei 32 Grad Wassertemperatur auch schon nicht mehr so richtig erfrischend waren... Unsere kleine Wasserratte fuehlte sich pudelwohl im Wasser. Spritzen und sogar tauchen macht ihr gar nix aus und wenn Mama nicht Angst gehabt haette, dass ihr irgendwann Schwimmhaeute wachsen waere sie wahrscheinlich ueberhautp nicht mehr raus gekommen.


Emmi loved MeMe and Granddaddys Pool. Which is a good thing since there aren't really a lot of other things to do in a 100 degree Texas heat. Emmi just loves the water. She won't even complain if she goes all the way under for a second. If Mama wouldn't have worried that Emmi was going to turn into prune she probably would have never gotten out.

Eine Woche bei MeMe & Granddaddy in Houston

Die letzte Woche haben Emmi und Mama bei MeMe & Granddaddy in Houston verbracht. Papa war auch dabei aber nur fuer die Wochenenden weil er natuerlich in die Arbeit musste. Emmi fand es natuerlich toll ungeteilte Aufmerksamkeit von jedem zu bekommen. Tante Mindy, Onkel Chad und Cousar Coleman

Emmi and Mama got to spend last week with Emmis MeMe & Granddaddy in Houston. Papa got to come for the weekends but had to go back to Austin for work during the week. Emmi loved having undivided attention 24/7. No wonder she never wants to go to sleep...

10 Monate alt!!!

Emily ist heute 10 Monate alt!!! Mit dem laufen klappt es immer besser!!!

Ihre absolute Lieblingsbeschaeftigung ist Kuckkuck spielen. Sie haelt sich Kissen, Decken, Spielsachen, Schuhe oder was sie sonst so finden kann vor's Gesicht und warted das jemand "Da ist die Emmi" ruft, was bei ihr Freudengeschrei ausloest :-). Ausserdem ist sie total begeistert von Buechern. Besonders Buecher mit Tieren, weil Mama und Papa da immer so lustige Geraeusche zu machen... Sie kann auch schon zum Wau Wau und zu der Ente zeigen wenn sie danach gefragt wird!!

Emmi is 10 months old today!! And she is getting fast!!! Her favourite game right now is picaboo. She'll hold blankets, pillows, toys or whatever else is handy in front of her face and gets really excited if somebody "finds" her. She also discovered books. She loves books with animals in them, probably because of all the funny noises we make for her when we look at them. She can also point to the duck and the dog if asked for it in german.
